Happy Thanksgiving!

When I sat down to Thanksgiving lunch with my family today, I sort of felt silly because the first thing that ran through my head was that I was thankful that we were having ham instead of turkey. (I know, I know, the crazy tangents my mind goes off on!)

But then I straightened up and thought about the things I truly am thankful for...

1. My daughter. I am thankful each and every day that God blessed me with such a wonderful child.
2. My amazing family and friends
3. My great students. Believe me, a great set of students is a true blessing.
4. The fact that I love my job. Jobs are hard to come by as it is right now and I am lucky enough to have one I absolutely love.
5. My books, short stories and other writings. I hope to have the opportunity to share them with everyone at some point.

I'm sure there are a gazillion other things that I'll think about later. But regardless, Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!

So, what are you thankful for this year?

  1. I am thankful for:
    * my two kids without whom I'd feel lost and empty inside
    * my HEALTH, for after having had 3 major surgeries in 4 months, I finally feel "normal" and am healthy again
    * peace of mind
    * joy in my heart
    * contentment in my day
    * a roof over my head
    * a warm bed to sleep in
    * more food than one person should eat
    * friends that I can count on
    * things that make me smile
    * and the ability to find joy in nature, and simple little things

  4. I'm thankful that we live in a society where sweatpants, t-shirts and ponytail holders are acceptable outside of the house clothing!

  6. OK, so let me rephrase that...I'm glad that we live in a society that isn't so pretentious and comfortable is acceptable. It's what's on the inside that counts, not the outside. Plus, I do my best work wearing sweats. Comfort=creativity : )
