Just wanted to let everybody know that I got all the grades posted this afternoon. From what I understand, you all will have to sign into your Banner accounts on the Columbia State website. That's where you'll be able to access your grades for the semester.
I must admit that I had a lot of grades that were lower than I expected. I knew that the final was a bit harder than the other tests. Unfortunately that's just a byproduct of the amount of information that we covered after test #3. But what I noticed that hurt a lot of people's grades was the fact that many of you did not get with me to do makeups for tests you might have missed and the fact that I gave out a lot of zeros for movie reviews that didn't get turned in.
I can't discuss specifics on grades, but I will give you the curves for each class:
Clifton- 1 point (thank Maria!)
Columbia- 1 point (thank Keri!)
Franklin- 3 points (thank Blaze and Taylor!)
I hope you learned a lot and for those of you who have signed up for my class next semester, we'll just pick up where we left off.
Have a great Christmas break everyone!
I finally got to check my grades. It took long enough! I am thankful for all your efforts this semesters.. I appreciate all the little extra things.. and the night meeting, and the suprise on test day. It's been so great. Well, my college life has started... two A's. Hope I remain successful as I venture on into other classes. I also hope they are as fun as yours. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you could finally get into your account. I think, from other emails that I got from students, that it took them a little while to get things straight on the system. Gotta love computers!
ReplyDeleteAnd also, I'm glad you've started your college career off with such good grades. The longer you go, the more you'll enjoy college (even if you don't always get A's!)
Mrs. Shelton, how can we find out what we made on our last test? Just out of curiosity.
ReplyDeleteGet with me when the semester starts back. I can't discuss specifics on grades over the phone or the Internet but I'd be happy to talk with you face to face. Weren't you one of the ones who wanted to take the class at 7:45? If so, I'll tell you like I told Maria...If (and this is a big IF) Steven will allow it, I'd be happy to get with a small group and do sort of an independent study class. You could sign up for the 9:30 class but we could meet at another time (7:45 twice a week or one big block one afternoon a week). I know you and Maria are both good students and it would help you. You two could talk to Steven about it if that sounds good to you. Let me know what you think!
